We enthusiastically recommend Brian Tschider and Cobalt Construction, and have referred him to many, many satisfied friends and clients who just rave about him and recommend him to their friends and neighbors, too.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with him for over twenty years. Brian has remodeled our own garden home, Casa Azul in Whittier Heights, and we partnered with him to develop and build (he did all the building!) the AIA-award winning, 42nd Street Condos, a four-unit condominium building at 42nd and Whitman in the Wallingford/Fremont neighborhood of Seattle.
Brian’s work is of the highest caliber and he is always honest, hardworking and reliable, working easily with architects and homeowners to achieve their desires, within their budgets and time frames. His long-time relationships with trusted and accomplished subcontractors assures tight scheduling, quality control and timely completion. Brian’s work embodies a rare combination of a clear and practical “big picture” view and a demanding and artful standard for finished detail.
We confidently give him our highest recommendation!

I had a major remodel done to my 1912 house when I hired Brian of Cobalt Construction to pop up a dormer and completely overhaul my bathroom. We ran into some interesting issues, as you always do with an older house, but Brian and his team handled them well and economically, and the job was done on time. That was five years ago, and not only is the bathroom still gorgeous and holding out well with no issues, but I have been able to call upon Brian on a couple of follow-up occasions for emergency consultations and smaller jobs where I needed a professional.
There is nothing better than having a reliable, versatile, experienced contractor who knows what to do and gets it done. Brian will always be my first choice for any house project I undertake.
Cobalt Construction completely remodeled the kitchen in our 1930s Tudor home and did a magnificent job! Brian Tschider and his crew are skilled and efficient. Our project got done on time and without any cost overruns. I recommend them highly for any residential construction project.
Brian remodeled my home in 2006, adding an artist’s studio, updating the kitchen, and making some changes on the main floor. I chose to work with Brian because his estimate was most competitive and his references were all very positive. During the job, I was impressed with Brian’s attention to detail and high standards. He insisted that all work be done well even if it meant that it had to be repeated. Brian also kept to our agreed-upon budget. Any additions were my choice. All work was on schedule as my remodel was their main job during the three months of the summer.
I lived in my house during the remodel and the workers were considerate and cleaned up at the end of the day.
An architect, Laura Kraft, drew the plans and all three of us fine-tuned the work as the job progressed. I very much appreciated Brian’s expertise and professionalism and would recommend him highly.
Brian Tschider and Cobalt Construction did a complete remodel of our basement, transforming it from a damp and dirty cellar to a dry and comfortable living space that matches the Craftsman details upstairs. From the installation of a complex French drain system, and pouring of a new slab with radiant heat, to the finishing touches on the new stairs and trim—their work was efficient and of the highest quality.
Brian was a pleasure to work with, and brought the project in both on time and on budget. I would recommend Cobalt Construction to anyone planning a remodel.
