Two busy doctors with a growing family, Rasa and Sylvia wanted to expand and modernize a dated half-bathroom in their Craftsman-style home—but structural changes weren’t possible due to nearby stairs, the existing master closet, and a dormer. We worked with a skilled interior designer on this project and got creative: We found room for a dedicated shower by rotating the toilet. A large skylight makes the space feel more open. And touches such as a barn door and sliding shower door ensure every inch of area is maximized. It’s a bathroom that feels bigger than it is, with an industrial feel that is still right at home. We have since transformed two additional bathrooms and a laundry room for Rasa and Sylvia.
